The whole country is once again in a state of calamity with the disaster brought about by the tropical storm Ondoy (international name Ketsana) in the National Capital Region and the different provinces in Luzon like Bulacan, Rizal and Laguna.
According to reports, more than 500,000 people are affected and the death toll is already at more than 100 while tens of thousands are currently in 100 evacuation centers.
Here in Metro Manila alone, thousands of families and their homes are affected and until now still are feeling the horror that was typhoon Ondoy.
In the communities of greater Fairview, Quezon City for instance 38,000 families are affected by the tragedy that was Ondoy, all of them currently rehabilitating what is left of their homes and properties. Most of them however, have nothing left to rehabilitate.
Samahang Oerasyon Sagip, a disaster response body convened by the different organizations in the health sector, is knocking on your good hearts to extend support to the relief mission that we will be conducting in various communities here in Metro Manila.
